The frog-kind always knew there was something off about Upa.

When Upa was just a froglet, his teacher found him smirking darkly next to a dismembered dragonfly.

While his kinder twin Apu led the Pond’s varsity and competed in long-distance swimming, and while Pepe’s croaking capacity was well known all around the swamp, Upa was often seen brooding darkly under the reeds, muttering under his breath while fondling sharp objects.

He had a particular liking for sharp, metallic, glinting objects and a knack for hiding in the shadows.

Then, one night… The other frogs started to disappear.
